Just Starting Out
Buying a property for the first time is a very exciting experience but in the current economic climate is not as easy as it once was.
If you’re just starting out then we hope the information below is helpful.
Getting Registered
If you’re looking to purchase in London then a good place to start is registering with firststepslondon. You’ll find lots of great information about affordable housing in the city and more importantly a list of properties available.
For buyers outside of London a good place to start is the Homes and Communities Agency.
Contact details for both of these organisations can be found in the Partners section of our website.
Want to View
Great so you’ve found something you like and would like to arrange a viewing. You’ll need to speak with the housing association marketing the property to arrange a viewing. They’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about the property so don’t be scared to ask.
Property Found
Fantastic, you’ve found a property you like and the housing association have made you an initial offer to purchase - what next? Please refer to the Property Found tab in this section of our website for more details.
There may be a fee for mortgage advice, the precise amount of the fee will depend upon your circumstances but we estimate that it will be £247.
